Guillermo Cabrera Infante (Spanish elocution: [ɡiˈʎermo kaˈβɾeɾa imˈfante]; Gibara, 22 April 1929 – 21 February 2005) was a Cuban writer, writer, interpreter, screenwriter, and pundit; in the 1950s he utilized the pen name. Caín.
A one-time supporter of the Castro administration, Cabrera Infante went into outcast to London in 1965. He is best known for the novel Tres Tristes Tigres (actually: "three miserable tigers", distributed in English as Three Trapped Tigers), which has been contrasted positively with James Joyce's Ulysses.
